The Winter Build is launching soon! Sign up now to join our first playtest.

Hey everyone! Ben here from the Summit Showdown team. We’ve been making great progress towards our first major milestone: the WINTER BUILD. After we finish a few things up, we are stoked to invite a closed group of friends and family to participate in our first official playtest. This test will focus on the core gameplay of Summit Showdown (movement & combat).


Current Progress


  • Combat

    • We have been finalizing core gameplay systems related to health, spawning, hit detection, & projectile mechanics. 

    • In the Winter Build, you’ll be able to test out your default melee weapons, the Sword Poles. These are always available and pack a punch. We are also planning on testing some ranged options- including the Ranger Rifle and Snowballs.

  • Movement

    • We have implemented tricks (flips, spins & grabs) and boost rewards. Every time you land a trick or find a boost orb, boost is added to your meter. Look out though- Wipeouts are coming soon!


  • Art

    • We have finished creating our character model and have tested him in our Bunny Slope training range level (still under development). Named Yuki, our first character is a Frostblood skier hailing from Japan.

    • We are currently working on some basic animations related to ground movement, tricks, and combat.


  • User Interface

    • We have locked down our most recent version of the Lobby and Heads Up Display and are starting to move the UI assets into the game.


What’s Next?


  • Winter Build Playtest

    • We’re gearing up for our first wave of external playtests, inviting friends, family, and community members to hit the slopes with us.
